Quick start for new engineers
New to your company? This page explains the whole thing in five minutes. Each part links to a full guide with screenshots.
1. Getting set up (about 15 minutes)
- 1
Accept your invitation email
See Joining your company.
- 2
Complete the sign-up steps
Your details and bank account, the services you offer, your insurance (if you're self-employed), your home base and working hours, and your areas. See Completing your sign-up.
- 3
Set up two-step verification on your phone
- 4
Sign your engineer agreement (self-employed engineers)
- 5
Work through Finish setting up on your Jobs screen
Connect your Google calendars, add your mobile for job texts, and check your areas. See Finish setting up.
2. How customers book you
- Customers book on your company's booking page. They enter their postcode and only see you if you cover their address, offer the service and have free time.
- They pick a service and a time, then save a card. Nothing is taken when they book.
- You get an email - and a text if you've added your mobile - and the job appears on your Jobs screen and in your Google Calendar.
- You choose your hours, your services and your areas. Your company sets the prices.
- Not getting bookings? See Why am I not getting bookings?.
3. On the day
- 1
Check Today's Schedule on your Jobs screen
It shows when to leave, directions and the customer's number.
- 2
Tap I'm on my way
The customer is told your arrival time by text or email. See On my way.
- 3
Do the job, and add any extras the customer agrees to
See Adding extras.
- 4
Complete the job and take payment
Saved card, payment link or cash. See Taking payment.
4. What you get paid per job
- 1
See your pay for each service on Profile › Services & business
Each service shows the price the customer pays and You earn £… - your cut for that job.
- 2
Add-ons, extras and approved travel charges add to it
Discount codes lower the customer's price, not your cut.
- 3
Watch it build up on Earnings
Completed jobs appear under Waiting to be paid. Cash you collect is taken off, because it's your company's money. See How your pay is worked out.
- 4
Get paid
Your company pays your balance into your bank account and you get a payment statement by email. Employed engineers are paid separately and earn £0 per job in the app.
5. Need a hand?
Tap the ? at the top of any screen for help with that screen, or Message your company for anything about a job, your pay or your areas. See Getting help.
