Telling the customer you're on your way

On today's job, tap I'm on my way
Or In 5 min if you need a few minutes first (for example to finish a coffee). You can Undo "In 5 min" until it goes.
- 2
Allow location if your phone asks
It is used once to work out your drive time and is never stored. If you say no, the app uses your last job or your home postcode instead.
- 3
Check the message on the card
The customer gets a text and/or an email with your first name, an arrival window (for example "between 09:35 and 09:45") and the booking reference - never where you are. The job changes to On the way, and the card tells you how they were told (for example "texted and emailed"). If it says they have NOT been told, phone them.
Good to know
- It works on the day of the job only.
- Tapping again only sends a new message if your arrival time has moved by 10 minutes or more - otherwise the customer already knows.
- A customer gets at most 3 updates per job, so they aren't bombarded.
- The window starts at now + the drive and ends a little later to allow for traffic (a buffer set by your company). Both times are rounded to the nearest 5 minutes, and the window is at least 10 minutes wide.
- The job then shows On the way · arriving between … and ….
- Your Google Calendar event for each job has an "I'm on my way" link too, so you can send it from your calendar.
- After taking payment, the app offers to tell your next customer you're on your way.
