Completing your sign-up
Sign-up takes about 10 minutes. Have your bank details, business details and (if you are self-employed) your insurance policy to hand. Nothing is saved until you press Finish at the end - if you close or refresh the page you start again (your bank details and insurance uploads are kept). Stuck on a step? Tap Help at the top - it opens this guide at the step you're on.
Step 1: Your profile
- 1
Add a photo of yourself
Tap the circle to add a clear head-and-shoulders photo. Customers see it when they book. Company logos can't be used. Use a JPEG or PNG under 5 MB.
- 2
Enter your Display name - the name customers and the office see.
- 3
Fill in Your business
Choose Sole trader or Limited company, then your trading name (or company name and 8-character company number), your full address including the postcode, and whether you are VAT registered. These go on your payment statements and agreement.
- 4
Enter your bank details and press Save bank details
Typing them in isn't enough - wait for "Bank details saved". See Bank details.
- 5
Tick I agree to the Terms and Conditions and tap Continue.
Step 2: Services
- 1
Tap each service you offer
A tick appears on the ones you choose. Each card shows the job length and what you earn per job. You can change this later on your Profile.
Step 3: Insurance (self-employed engineers)
Upload your current policy - public liability, and cover for the customer's property (such as their vehicle) while you work on it. Enter the insurance company, policy number and the date it runs out, then add a PDF or photos of each page. Continue unlocks once every cover you need is on file and hasn't run out. No papers to hand? Tap Skip for now to finish signing up and upload them later - a red banner in the app reminds you, and customers can't book you until your insurance is in. Engineers employed by your company don't see this step.
- If your company records vehicle details: Three things: public liability (£2 million+, a certificate is enough to start), cover for the customer's vehicle while being worked on (a schedule page, endorsement or broker email - it can be the same schedule), and driving cover only if you answer Yes to "Will you drive customers' vehicles?" (plus a licence tick). Then tick the own vehicle declaration - no upload. See Your insurance.
Step 4: Working hours and home postcode
- 1
Enter your home postcode
It's where you set off each morning, so the app can tell you when to leave for your first job. Only you and your company can see it.
- 2
Add your working hours
Tap + Interval on each day you work, or Quick: Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00 to fill the week. You can add more than one block a day (for example to leave a gap for lunch). Your start time is when you arrive at your first job.
Step 5: Location
- 1
Check your coverage area
Your company's standard areas are added for you when you enter your home base: drive-time areas from home with no travel charge. If they can't be worked out, a circle about 15 miles around your postcode area is used instead. Most people leave it and change it later in Coverage Zones.
- 2
Tap Finish & go to dashboard
Wait while it says "Hold on, we're setting you up". Next you will be asked to set up two-step verification.
