Job notes, photos and reports
The job card (when you arrive)If your company records vehicle details
On the day of the job, a highlighted amber Job card button appears on the job. Tap it when you get to the customer. It shows the full vehicle details (make, model, reg, spec, gearbox - manual or automatic - and VIN once known) and any Notes from the customer, then asks you to record:
- Warning lights - tick every light on the dash (engine, ABS, AdBlue, coolant, tyre pressure, airbag, DPF, glow plug, oil, battery, power steering, traction/stability, brakes), add any other light in the box, or tick No warning lights. You must say one or the other.
- Fault codes - any fault codes worth worrying about, for example P0401 or U0100. Up to 1,500 characters.
- Job notes and photos (or a diagnostic report PDF) as below.
- Vehicle mileage - compulsory before you can file the card.
- Tap Save job card to keep it as you go, then File job card when you're done. A filed card shows a green Filed banner with the time; you can still add to it later.
- Your company sees every filed job card (warning lights, fault codes, mileage, notes, photos and reports) on their Job cards page.
Adding notes and photos
- 1
Open the job and tap Job notes & photos
On a phone it's just under I'm on my way.
- If your company records vehicle details: This button is called Job card - see The job card above.
- 2
Type your Job notes, then tap Save notes
- If your company records vehicle details: Enter the Vehicle mileage too - the button then reads Save notes and mileage.
- 3
Tap Take photo for the camera, or Add photo or PDF to choose files
Photos are shrunk on your phone so they upload quickly. Each one uploads on its own - if some fail you'll see how many, and you can add those again.
Diagnostic reportsIf your company records vehicle details
Upload a diagnostic report PDF (for example from a Topdon tool) and the app reads it for you: the VIN, reg, mileage and any fault codes appear on the job. If the reg on the report doesn't match the booking you'll see a warning - check it's the right car.
Limits
- Notes: up to 2,000 characters. Notes you've typed but not saved are kept on your phone if you lose signal or close the job - they're there when you open it again.
- To remove a photo, tap the bin on it and then tap again to confirm.
- Up to 20 photos and PDFs per job; each PDF up to 10 MB.
- You can add notes and photos to completed jobs too, but you can't remove a photo from a completed job - ask your company.
- Notes and photos are seen by you and your company.
