Connecting Google Calendar
Google Calendar sync works two ways, and you can use one or both: an output calendar that receives your jobs, and an input calendar whose events block your time in the app.
Connecting
- 1
Go to Profile › Calendars and tap Connect Google Calendar
- 2
Choose your Google account and allow calendar access
You come back to the app with "Google account connected".
- 3
Under Output calendar, tap Choose calendar
Pick a calendar (or Create a new calendar) for your jobs. All your jobs are copied across straight away.
- 4
Under Input calendar, tap Choose calendar
Pick the calendar you put personal appointments in. Its events become Private blocks in the app so customers can't book over them.
How it behaves
- Use two different calendars for output and input.
- New, moved and cancelled jobs reach Google within a minute or two. Each event has the customer, address, job details and an "I'm on my way" link.
- Changes in Google arrive in the app within seconds, and at most about 5 minutes.
- Only future events that show as Busy block you. Events marked Free are ignored.
- Editing a job's event in Google doesn't change the job - the app puts it back. To move a job, reschedule it in the app.
- Only calendars you can edit are listed.
If something looks wrong
- Reconnect required - tap Reconnect Google (Google sometimes asks again, for example after a password change).
- Sync needs attention or Sync delayed - tap Sync now.
- Old events missing - Full sync pulls everything from now onwards.
- Disconnect stops a sync; Disconnect Google completely removes the connection.
Prefer Apple Calendar or Outlook?
Use Subscribe by URL (iCal) further down Profile › Calendars. Tap Subscribe or copy the URL into your calendar app. Your calendar app decides how often it refreshes, and this feed doesn't block bookings. Keep the link private - anyone with it can see your jobs. Regenerate URL makes the old one stop working.
